Eating the Frog

“There’s a saying that if the first thing you do each morning is to eat a live frog, you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing that it’s the worst thing you’ll do all day. Using “eat that frog” as a metaphor for tackling the most challenging task of your day ~ the one you are most likely to procrastinate on, but also probably the one that can have the greatest positive impact on your life.”

~Brian Tracey

I looked up this picture of the frog holding on, never giving up, because seriously, that’s how difficult it has been to transfer my princess flibbertigibbet blog from blogger to wordpress.  I’m sure there is a lesson in this one.  I mean, good grief, it has been a misery.  Today, when I ate the frog… I mean called Go Daddy, (that is, after I realized it STILL has not transferred,) I am told:

“Oh sorry, there’s a lock on your account, you won’t be able to transfer it until May 27th.”

So, I hang the phone and am thinking a few un lady like words to myself.  Then I pick up the phone… and you know what? I ate that frog again. I call another number to Go Daddy. (This has been so the routine for the last 10 weeks.)  I tell the man on the other end, his name is Isreal, my situation.  For once, Isreal seems to have all the answers to my problems.  He has one question I do not know the answer to so I send a text to my web designer to ask her while Isreal is on the phone.

“Nevermind him!!!!! You don’t need him!!!!!  It’s fixed. Hang up the phone!!”

“Oh no, not while I actually have a willing party to help me!”  I tell her.

“No, it’s fixed!!! I promise. Hang up on him before he hits some button on his end and messes us up again!!!!!”

It is a big decision but I tell Isreal that my situation was now fixed.

With trembling hands, I hang up the phone and type it in….

And you know what?

It works.

So what’s lesson learned here?

Never give up….and eat that frog.

Eventually, you will succeed.

Or die trying.

Not really.
