Feeling Fat on Tuesday

This morning, I call Princess Prudence to whine about talk about something~ but she is busy and has to call me back. Which she does….3 hours later. I’m no longer irritated about someone a certain situation so I don’t bother to bring it up. Which is good because I can detect a slight irritation in her voice. “What’s wrong?” I ask. “Nothing.” I know Prudence well…. This is a FAT lie! So I persist: “What’s wrong?” “I’m fine, really.” “What’s wrong?” Prudence caves: “It’s Tuesday. Tuesday’s are always my bad day at work. I feel like a 1000 pounds have been dumped on my back…..it’s no certain thing, person or situation, its a combination of everything and knowing it’s only Tuesday…days away from when I will actually get to spend time away from work and get to be home with my children.” “Are all Tuesdays heavy with these people, issues, circumstances?” “Yep.” “Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. So next Tuesday, before the heaviness has time to slap you in the face and sink in, how about if you ARM YOURSELF!!!?” “You mean shoot the person/people/etc whose driving me crazy? I think I could get fired for that, PF.” “Errr. Gah!!! Noooooooooooooooo. Plan a lunch date, call me, I’m always ready to eat… If there’s not enough time, make yourself a special lunch. Bring something pretty from your house; even a flower from your very own yard ~ something just for you to put on your desk. Maybe wear something you know you feel good in/ look sassy in.” “I could.” Prudence peeps. You should. We all should! So on your next FAT TUESDAY…. be prepared and come armed…. After all… When you come to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on.  ~Franklin D. Roosevelt
